The FST Series is an analog 5-wire resistive touchscreen platform engineered for superior stability, long service life, and dependable performance in demanding environments. It preserves the intuitive usability of traditional 4-wire systems while delivering significantly improved structural reliability and maintenance advantages.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Durable, Deterioration-Resistant Construction

In a 5-wire resistive architecture, the upper ITO film is used exclusively for voltage measurement, while the lower ITO layer responsible for position detection is deposited on the glass substrate. Because the detection layer resides on rigid glass rather than a flexible film, measurement accuracy is not affected by film flexure, mechanical stress, or changes in electrical resistance caused by repeated actuation. This structure provides:

• Greater mechanical durability

• Reduced performance drift over time

• Improved resistance to environmental and physical stress

Reliable and Accurate Detection

In conventional 4-wire systems, the upper ITO layer measures X coordinates and the lower ITO layer measures Y coordinates. If either layer degrades, detection accuracy is compromised. The 5-wire system eliminates this vulnerability. Voltage measurement occurs on the upper layer, while coordinate calculation is derived from the stable glass-based detection layer. As a result, the system maintains accurate input detection even if the flexible layer experiences wear. Benefits include:

Anti-Glare Optical Performance

An anti-glare surface treatment is applied to the ITO film to suppress light reflection and improve visibility in high-brightness environments. For applications requiring maximum clarity, the surface can be customized with a clear film option to enhance LCD image sharpness.
